HiMirrorly: an AI that shows its work and abstains when it cannot
A private reflection product where Human Intelligence and Emotional Intelligence sit above the AI. Scores are source-cited, confidence is capped below 100%, and nothing users write trains a model.
- Live, paid subscription, 15-day trial
- Early stage, double-digit active users
- One plan, $17 a month or $170 a year
- Product work alongside the founder: discovery, scope, PRDs, AI-assisted prototyping
- Forbes India, Outlook Business, The Tribune, Lokmat Times
The problem
Self-improvement apps hand you a private number you can never show anyone. AI coaches do the opposite: they flatter, they guess, and they claim to know you better than you know yourself.
The product bet was a mirror, not a coach. Give people back their own words, score only what they self-reported, and make every score defensible enough to share with a manager or a client.
The AI decisions that shaped the product
- AI is the smallest layer. The stated hierarchy is Human Intelligence above Emotional Intelligence above AI, and the product copy, scoring, and roadmap all follow it.
- Self-report only. Nothing is inferred from face, voice tone, or behaviour tracking. The input is what the user wrote or said on purpose.
- Abstain rather than guess. Search and Plan answers carry a confidence score and cited sources, and the engine returns no answer when it cannot verify one.
- Confidence is hard-capped below 100%. No output is presented as certain.
- No training pipeline. Diary entries, sessions, and voice conversations are never batched, exported, or used to train a model. One essential cookie, no analytics, no ads.
- Method-tagged scores. Every Proof of Growth number names the scoring method and the evidence behind it so the user can defend it.
What shipped
- A daily loop with no streak guilt: set a morning intention, live the day, close the loop with an evidence-cited reflection at night.
- Proof of Growth, the flagship: a signed, shareable growth receipt with a score, an evidence timeline, and a public link.
- Search and Plan: private search with citations and a confidence score, plus a behavioural-science plan.
- Ask Your Digital Self: a voice conversation grounded only in the user's own entries.
- Mirror Coins: users earn for showing up, never for what they write or score, so the incentive cannot distort the reflection.
Business model and trust
One plan, no tiers, no auto-renew surprises: a single charge for a month or a year, with a 15-day free trial and a referral credit that never expires. Pricing simplicity was a trust decision as much as a commercial one.
The privacy promise is written in the first person by the founder and backed by product choices: no crawling, no selling, no training, one cookie.
What I am measuring
The product is early. The number that matters is whether people come back to close the daily loop, not sign-ups. Retention on the reflect-and-close cycle and trial-to-paid conversion are the two metrics that decide the next move.
Numbers are in the double digits today. I would rather say that plainly than dress it up.
